Windows 10computers require a password after a long period of inactivity
I haven’t used my computer in a long time, and recently when I turned it on, it asked me to enter a password to log in, but I’ve never set a login password. I’ve tried leaving the field blank or entering other characters, but I still can’t log in. Is there a way to bypass or reset this password?

Before you begin, try to determine if your computer was set up with a Microsoft account (which uses an email address like email address removed for privacy reasons) or a local account (which uses a simple username without an email) . This distinction matters for which method will work.
