- Update motherboard chipset/USB drivers
- Disable USB selective suspend in Power Options
- In Device Manager uninstall all USB controllers and reboot
- Disable Fast Startup in Power Options
- Update BIOS/UEFI firmware
- In each USB Root Hub’s power settings uncheck “Allow computer to turn off this device”
- Run built-in hardware diagnostics on motherboard
- Test ports with known-good devices and cables
- Ensure latest Windows updates are installed
- Boot from a Linux live USB to rule out hardware failure
