Windows 10 Update Failed, Attempting to Upgrade to 22H2
After the upgrade via the built-in system update failed, I tried using the Microsoft official upgrade tool (Media Creation Tool) to upgrade to version 22H2. However, the tool only provides the "Remove files and settings" option (the other two options are grayed out and unavailable). This makes it impossible to complete the upgrade without clearing all data. I am now seeking an upgrade method that can preserve all personal files and applications.

The Media Creation Tool's "Remove files and settings" option indicates possible system issues or limitations; using the Windows 11 Installation Assistant or in-place upgrade method is preferable.
The Media Creation Tool may not be compatible with your system configuration or hardware. Check the official Microsoft documentation to see if your system meets the minimum requirements for the 22H2 upgrade.
To install Windows 10 from a bootable USB drive, select the upgrade option whilst retaining personal files and applications to perform an in-place upgrade to the 22H2 version.
Run the Microsoft Upgrade Assistant and choose "Keep personal files and apps" to perform an in-place upgrade.
