Windows 10 stuck at login screen, keyboard and mouse not working
Windows 10 22H2 is stuck at the login screen, with keyboard and mouse unresponsive (device lights are on) and cannot enter BIOS. A similar issue was fixed by cleaning the cooler before, but cleaning and re-seating RAM didn't work this time. Need help.

This issue sometimes happens because Windows doesn’t load the correct drivers during startup.
First try a simple restart. If the keyboard and mouse still don’t respond on the login screen, try these steps:
- Unplug and reconnect the keyboard and mouse, or try different USB ports. Sometimes Windows fails to initialize the USB devices during boot.
- Force restart the computer and boot into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting the PC a few times until Windows opens the recovery environment, then go to
Troubleshoot → Advanced Options → Startup Settings → Restart → Safe Mode. - Once in Safe Mode, check Device Manager and update or reinstall the keyboard and mouse drivers.
- If the problem started after a recent update, you can also try System Restore from the recovery menu to go back to a previous working state. Many times this issue is related to driver problems or a Windows update glitch, and Safe Mode usually helps fix it.

it's possible that the problem lies within the system board or the CPU. In that case, it might be best to seek professional help from a qualified PC technician or the manufacturer's support team.

First, unplug all USB devices and connect only a PS/2 keyboard. You can also choose to clear the CMOS and then try to enter Safe Mode — it's up to you.
