Windows 10 file explorer ribbon has a Delete button. Can I removed it?
When I'm in a folder, such as when I'm looking through documents, there's an option on the top toolbar, a red X symbol. I've accidentally clicked this and it has immediately deleted a document (I don't know which document it was as it was accidental).
The document hasn't gone to recycle bin.
1) How can I find the document
2) How can I remove this completely pointless delete option on the toolbar ribbon. I simply dont need it there when I already have multiple ways of deleting documents. Windows drives me crazy with these arbitrary design decisions!

Since Windows doesn't officially support hiding that specific Delete button easily, your best bet is to be cautious with the ribbon and train yourself not to click it accidentally. Also, consider using keyboard shortcuts carefully—or, if you're comfortable with it, customizing or disabling certain keys via third-party tools.

If a file was deleted directly (e.g., via the ribbon delete button), Windows should normally send it to the Recycle Bin unless it was deleted using Shift + Delete, which permanently deletes it. Since you've mentioned it didn't go to the Recycle Bin, it’s possible the file was permanently deleted, or some settings are affecting its storage.

In theory, some Ribbon customizations can be done via registry tweaks, but Microsoft does not officially support removing specific Ribbon buttons like Delete.
