Windows 10 Asks for Password Even Though None Was Set, Can't Log In
My Windows 10 PC hasn't been used in a while, and now it's asking for a password on the login screen. I never set a password, and I can't get in. no matter what I do. Need help.
- On the login screen, click the Power icon in the bottom right corner.
- While holding down the Shift key on your keyboard, select Restart.
- Keep holding Shift until your PC reboots to a blue screen with options.
- Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
- After the restart, press 4 or F4 on your keyboard to Enable Safe Mode.
- Once in Safe Mode, click on your user account. Windows often bypasses password checks here and will let you log in with a blank password.
