Win10 Update KB4040724 Edge Prob Opening SharePoint Online PDF File From File Explorer

Win10 update KB4040724 caused the problem of ... Viewing a PDF using Edge, that resides on SharePoint Online, opening from File Explorer. 

A new Edge tab opens up titled "Opening your book..." and goes no further.  

Opening the same file in Chrome works well.
