Win10 Taskbar shows duplicate icons for the same running application

When running certain applications, the taskbar displays two separate icons for the same application window instead of combining them into one.

Clicking either icon opens the application, but the duplicate icons remain even after restarting the application.

I’ve encountered this problem many times.
