Win10 Microsoft Store downloads fail with error 0x8007000D after a system restart
After restarting the system, downloading or updating apps from the Microsoft Store may fail due to error code 0x8007000D. Existing apps work normally, but new apps cannot be downloaded. Clearing the Store cache or resetting the Store app may temporarily resolve the issue, but it will reoccur after the next restart.
This issue has only recently begun to occur.

Error 0x8007000D means Windows received invalid data. Because resetting Store helps only until restart, check for component corruption or software loaded at startup. Install available Windows updates, restart, confirm date, time, and region, then run wsreset.exe. On Windows 10, run the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter. Next open an elevated Command Prompt and run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth, followed by sfc /scannow. Restart and test a small free app. If the error returns only after reboot, perform a clean boot, test Store, and re-enable non-Microsoft services and startup items in groups until the conflict returns. Avoid deleting Store package folders or changing their permissions. Windows 10 reached end of support in October 2025, so an unsupported installation may no longer receive fixes unless covered by an applicable servicing program. If repair tools find no issue, plan migration to supported Windows or contact Microsoft Support with the Store and Windows build numbers.
