You pull everything out and carefully turn the machine over and tap it gently to shake out the crumbs that got stuck while you were eating the cookies while you were working, and with a toothbrush that is as soft as possible, you try to clean out the things stuck in the buttons, shaking it left and right while upside down.

Plus, you press all the buttons at once so that you can shake out the ones that are stuck. Be careful of course, but you'll succeed.

As for the mouse, you can use a cotton swab or alcohol, but if it's several years old, it's better to replace it. It doesn't have to be expensive, just a newer model. Look for it on Amazon or EBay, or just in a store near you.
