Win 10 Open Folders - Cache
I was hoping the 23H2 update would fix my problem, but it did not. I have the same (4) folders always open on my desktop, and file explorer (explorer) crashes several times a day. I click on any file, mouse cursor gets jittery and and floats around for a couple seconds, then all my folders are gone, explorer (desktop) goes blank for a couple seconds while the explorer resets.
I'm hoping someone can give me a directory or registry location where windows maintains a file that shows what folders are open on the desktop.
My hope is to save that file, then every time explorer crashes I can just copy/paste the BU file to that folder.
Clean install of Win 11 pro (3) weeks ago after a mobo replacement, I've had this problem every since I built this PC in March, never had this issue in Win 10.

When Explorer crashes, it doesn't necessarily keep track of open folder windows or desktop icons in a way that can be simply saved and restored.
