why was the upgrade to 26100.8457 so massive? Time to downlod a new ISO?
On my Lenovo T16s Gen 6 AMD laptop, the install to shutdown process took almost an hour. And when I restarted my system today, there seemed to be more updating and several minutes, much longer than normal, just to get to the login screen.
Has anyone else had this experience?

This is normal; you're worrying too much. This release includes security updates and major kernel changes; there's no need to download the ISO, as future cumulative updates will return to their normal size.
Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
See if there are pending updates or any errors.
Allow updates to complete fully.
