Why does Windows sometimes report the wrong amount of storage space?
Sometimes Windows reports an incorrect amount of storage space remaining or total capacity on my drives, causing confusion. This discrepancy may be due to hidden system files, partition issues, or file system errors, but I’m unsure of the exact cause and how to fix it.

Confirm and check if there are large hidden system files like hibernation or page files.

The most reliable way to see what's actually on your drive is to use a third-party disk space analyzer.
