Why does my USB headset keep disconnecting and reconnecting on Windows 10?
Why does my USB headset randomly disconnect and reconnect every few minutes on Windows 10, sometimes cutting out mid-call or while I'm listening to music? Why does it show up again almost instantly in Device Manager, but the audio switches to the speakers before it comes back?
Could this be a power management setting, a faulty USB port, or a driver conflict with another audio device? And is there a way to keep the headset connected without replacing it?

The immediate return in Device Manager suggests the headset is re-enumerated, so Windows loses the USB audio endpoint and chooses the speakers as the remaining output. That can be caused by the headset, cable, port, hub power, USB controller, or driver interaction; the symptom alone cannot identify which one. Connect the headset directly to another PC port and test another known-good USB cable if the headset uses a removable one. Test the headset on another computer and test a different headset on the affected port. In Device Manager, check the headset, audio inputs and outputs, and USB controllers for warnings, then install current chipset, USB, and audio drivers from the PC maker. Note whether the failure begins under load, after sleep, or only with other USB devices attached. If it follows the headset to another PC, replacement is likely; if it follows one port or dock, investigate that path.
