Where is the cache folder in Windows 10?
Is the cache folder located at this place:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\Content.MSO
I can see a lot of tmp files inside but not sure what it does ? And if it is safe to delete the files inside?
The file size is pretty big and growing at daily base.
- vkeeganCopper ContributorGo the app folder and delete cache files from there. It is quite safe to do now!
- EommyIron ContributorSystem Cache:
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download - This is where Windows Update files are cached.
C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 - This folder is used for Windows updates as well.
User Cache:
C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\Temp - This is a general temporary files folder where applications might store cache data.
C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer - This folder contains cached thumbnails for files and folders.
