When will Windows stop asking to set up OneDrive?

Windows keeps prompting me to set up OneDrive, and I want to know when it will stop. Is there a way to disable this recurring reminder permanently, or does it only go away after I sign in?

  • You don’t have to sign in just to stop the reminders. The right setting depends on where they appear.

If it’s the Windows “Finish setting up your device” screen, go to Settings > System > Notifications > Additional settings and turn off “Suggest ways to get the most out of Windows and finish setting up this device.” On Windows 10, look under Notifications & actions.

If OneDrive itself opens asking you to sign in, disable Microsoft OneDrive under Task Manager > Startup apps. If you don’t use it at all, you can uninstall it through Settings > Apps.

These changes don’t disable Windows updates. There isn’t a single switch guaranteed to suppress every future OneDrive promotion, but you don’t need to complete setup to dismiss the recurring ones.
