When I enter my password at startup, the password field doesn't appear.
I have a Lenovo computer. Sometimes when I enter my password at startup, the password field doesn't appear, and a gray screen shows up instead. This happens about 4 times out of every 10 startup attempts. It improved a lot after a system update, but it still happens occasionally.

Press Enter or Tab.
Sometimes the field is there but not focused. Try pressing Tab or Enter once, then type your password.
