What is the best PDF to Word Doc converter with OCR for Windows 10?
I recently had a scanned PDF that I needed to edit, but standard converters just gave me garbage because the pages were pure images. I ended up using NAPS2 as a PDF to Word converter with OCR to fix this. It runs OCR first to add a searchable text layer, and then you just open the result in Word—works flawlessly.
A guide to PDF to Word converter with OCR:
[ 1 ] Import PDF — Open NAPS2 and import your scanned PDF file.
[ 2 ] Recognize text — Click OCR, grab the language pack, and check "Make PDFs searchable using OCR". This converts the images into actual text.
[ 3 ] Save searchable PDF — Save the processed file as a new PDF (your original stays untouched).
[ 4 ] Convert in Word — Open the new PDF in Microsoft Word and save the result as DOCX.
Keep in mind: NAPS2 handles the OCR first; Word just does the final conversion. It doesn't export DOCX directly, so complex tables or heavily formatted pages might still need manual tweaking.
The biggest catch is the last step. NAPS2 only adds a searchable text layer—it doesn't export DOCX directly.
