I tried using Python with pdf2docx to convert a PDF into an editable Word file on my Windows PC. It's a free PDF to Word doc converter option, and the setup is pretty simple.
I just opened Command Prompt and entered:
pip install pdf2docx
After that, I used this short Python script:
from pdf2docx import Converter
cv = Converter("input.pdf")
cv.convert("output.docx")
cv.close()
It worked well for my text-based PDF, and I could open the result in Word and edit it. The formatting wasn't perfect in every place, though, especially around complex tables. Scanned PDFs need OCR first. Overall, it's a handy PDF to Word doc converter if you don't mind using a little Python.
