What even is the point of these? They don't even make microsoft any money.
If you want to promote games atleast promote some decent games which are on the microsoft store (cod, minecraft). I do not see any point of showing ads for "MR RACER - Car Racing" in the search menu. Why even do that?

Simply because those crappy game developers pay more to M$$.
Completely removing all ads and suggestions may not be possible in some versions of Windows, but these steps can reduce their frequency.
Promoting specific games or apps can also be a marketing tactic to increase downloads and engagement, especially for new or promoted titles.
