Wallpaper not showing up randomly and no reason for that!
It’s very unlikely to be malware-related — this behavior is most likely due to a Windows configuration or performance issue.
Here are a few things you can check:
1. Power Plan or Performance Settings
Sometimes, Windows may drop visual elements (like wallpapers) temporarily to save resources — especially if you’re on a Power Saver plan or the system is under load. Try switching to High Performance in Control Panel > Power Options.
2. Windows Background Slideshow Settings
If you ever used a slideshow or dynamic wallpaper, and then switched back to a static image, Windows might still be trying to rotate images. Double-check your settings in:
Settings > Personalization > Background, and make sure it's set to Picture, not Slideshow.
3. Sync/Theme Conflicts
If you're signed into a Microsoft account, sometimes theme settings sync across devices. That might cause the wallpaper to get overridden. You can disable sync in:
Settings > Accounts > Windows backup > Remember my preferences and turn off Themes.
4. Graphics Driver Glitch
Rarely, a display driver bug or crash can cause the wallpaper to disappear (especially if you see just a black background). Check if your display driver is up to date, or try reinstalling it from the manufacturer’s site (Intel, AMD, NVIDIA).
