USB Drive recognized as a network and will not let me open it
I have a USB drive that I use at home to back up photos and videos. It has worked fine for many years, but now the same computer does not recognize it as a USB drive. It says that it is a network and that I do not have access to it. I went into devices on settings and asked it to be forgotten, but now it does not come back when I plug it in. I've tried it on my work laptop, but the laptop does not even recognize it.

Can you check if the USB drive appears in Disk Management (diskmgmt.msc)?
You can also run chkdsk (e.g. chkdsk driveletter: /f) to try to fix the issue.- Derek_RoweCopper Contributor
The USB drive does not appear in disk management. The USB port works when I put another external hard drive in that spot. I also tried the check disk but it said the drive, path, or filename was invalid.MathieuVandenHautte
