upgrade RAM memory

Hi;

I have a hp Z800 workstation, single processor.

it's long time I'm trying to upgrade my computer RAM mermory from 16GB to 24GB, it read it but in system info, write: Installed  RAM 24GB (16GB usable).

Processor: intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X5650 @ 2.67GHz    2.67GHz

Are there any limitations or setup options in windows to resolve it?

  • Hi martinmiciciday

    Are you sure the memory you bought is compatible with your motherboard?
    Did you check whether the RAM was detected by the BIOS? Is your Bios up to date?
    Did you check msconfig to make sure that "max memory box" is not checked?
    Check the graphics card drivers and make sure is updated?

    Thanks

    Dav,

    Good Morning, I am just looking into the possibility of building my first PC, something I have always wanted to do. Something I am learning about is RAM: Can I suggest that you look into your motherboard to see what maximum RAM can be added to your setup?
