Unable to create restore point - Bitlocker 0x80310000

Running Windows 10 Pro 2H2 build 19045.6809 with extended support.  Latest update 2 days ago.

I tried to create a restore point and getting this message: "The restore point could not be created. This drive is locked by Bitlocker... must be unlocked from control panel 0x80310000.  Perhaps coincidentally the new bug message is also showing at Control Panel > Bitlocker Drive Encryption --> "For your security some settings are managed by your system administrator".  This is an independent home machine.  I clicked to "Suspend (Bitlocker) Protection" and tried to create restore point again with no luck.  I was expecting to input my Bitlocker password, but there is no option to do so.

When I restart the PC, I have to input the Bitlocker password.

How can I create a Restore Point?

  • Even if you've suspended BitLocker protection, sometimes the drive remains locked or the system still treats it as encrypted. The message "Some settings are managed by your system administrator" suggests that Group Policy or management settings are restricting your ability to modify BitLocker or related options, even on a home machine.

This must have been a temporary glitch due to the update.  I can create restore points now and the error message is gone.

I wish MS would focus less on Ai and more on creating a stable OS
