Yes, lower cost laptops have been sold in Windows 10/11 S Mode for several years now. This makes the Windows license much cheaper for the laptop manufacturers. It is infuriating and absurd, because nearly every user needs to install a non-Microsoft application such as Zoom, Acrobat, Slack, etc in order to actually USE their machine for its intended purpose.
