The System Tray Clock Freezes, But the Time in the Lock Screen Keeps Updating Correctly
My system tray clock on Windows 10 suddenly stops updating and becomes frozen, making it difficult to see the current time at a glance. Interestingly, the time shown on the lock screen continues to update correctly, which adds confusion because the taskbar clock is no longer reliable, disrupting my daily schedule and workflow.

Hi Wiford, because the lock screen time keeps updating correctly, Windows time itself probably isn’t the main issue. This sounds more like the taskbar or Explorer shell is not repainting the clock properly. I’d restart Windows Explorer from Task Manager, confirm the Windows Time service is running, install pending updates, and then run sfc /scannow plus DISM if it keeps coming back.
