The right way to upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10 in 2025
The official free upgrade offer from Microsoft has ended, but I successfully used Win7UpgradeMate to upgrade my old Windows 7 PC and kept all my files.

i just upgraded a windows 7 pro pc that has never had windows 10 on it before ,1st gen i5 dell.,, i just ran the setup form usb i created using the media creation tool,, after upgrade its not activated,, in 2023 MS shut off activating windows 10 with 7 key or upgrade,, you have to buy a key now,, i used kms to activate 10, then upgraded to 11 (with rufus) and 11 nocked out the activation,, and the kms does not work on 11,, had to buy a key online for $12 bucks now 11 is activated with a digital licence,, i tested and deleted app partitions and clean of windows 10 and it activated auto once online,, upgraded back to 11,, all is good,, the digital licence is for life for the computer, and 10 and 11 share the same activation, there is no 11 key , 10 key , they both the same ,
