The Desktop Icons Rearrange Themselves Alphabetically Every Time You Close a Window

The issue persists even after I rearrange the icons manually, and restarting the computer or refreshing the desktop does not fix it. I have checked for any scheduled tasks or third-party software that might be causing this behavior, but I couldn’t find any clues. I am looking for advice or solutions to stop this bizarre automatic rearrangement from happening every Tuesday and to keep my icons in the order I set them.

    Hi Finebns, first check View > Auto arrange icons is turned off. If it is already off, rebuild the icon cache and check whether OneDrive Desktop sync, cleanup software, or desktop-management tools are changing the layout. Since it happens every Tuesday, Task Scheduler is also worth checking.
