The box shut down completely once without any errors reported in Event Viewer or Problem Reports.

The subject line encapsulates the key focus - the search for documented evidence (logs) confirming the occurrence of a specific event. It is worth noting that both the 'Event Viewer' and 'Reliability History\Problem Reports' registers show no records of any power or hardware issues post the most recent update. Upon rebooting, the battery level stood at eighty-nine percent, with the power adapter still firmly linked to both an active power outlet and the device.

Given the absence of information in the usual sources, alternatives need to be explored. Moving forward, the plan involves running Sysinternals\ProcDump, followed by a motherboard reset according to the manufacturer’s guidelines within approximately two to three weeks. It is crucial to follow this sequence; resetting the motherboard first might temporarily resolve the issue, potentially clouding the root cause. With only thirty days left before the return policy expires, prompt action is necessary to avoid complications and potential machine downtime necessitating an RMA procedure.

This is the third machine and the second replacement of the exact make/model for various non-related reasons apart from the recurring shutdown behavior lacking documented substantiation. This machine operates more reliably with the OEM's preloaded OS and the drivers sourced from the OEM's regional website; a notable aspect is its lack of internet connectivity.

Your attentive feedback is greatly appreciated as we navigate this intricate situation.

The absence of logs in both the Event Viewer and Reliability Monitor suggests that the shutdown may be sudden or potentially caused by a hardware failure (e.g., power supply, overheating) that doesn't trigger a log entry.
