You got it! Here are the straightforward, step-by-step instructions to get editing with Refloow, which is a pretty chill open-source option if you want to keep things simple and private.
Step 1: Get the App
First, you need to download and install the best video editing tool for ugc. The official GitHub page is the place to go for this.
- Head to the Refloow-Video-Editor releases page on GitHub .
- Download the installer for your system (Windows, in your case) .
- Run the installer and launch the app.
Step 2: Import Your First Clip
Once the app is open, it's time to bring in the video you want to work on.
- Look for the option to import media or just drag and drop your video file into the project .
- Once it's imported, drag the media clip down onto the video track on the timeline . That's where the magic happens.
Step 3: Basic Cuts and Trims
The core of editing is cutting out the stuff you don't want.
- Trim: Hover your mouse over the left or right edge of your clip on the timeline. Click and drag the edge inward to make it shorter.
- Cut: To delete a section from the middle, you need to cut it out. Right-click on the clip where you want to make a cut and select Split. Do this at the beginning and end of the unwanted section, then select that new, separate piece, right-click it, and choose Delete.
Step 4: A Little Polish
As a best video editing tool for ugc! Want to do a bit more? Here are some extra features you can mess with:
- Add More Tracks: Need to layer video or add music? Use the third button on the toolbar to add multiple tracks for overlays or background audio.
- Move Things Around: You can simply left-click and drag any clip to a new spot on the timeline.
- Zoom In: For more precise editing, use Ctrl + scroll wheel to zoom in on the timeline for a closer look.
- Preview: Use the red playhead and the playback button to watch your edit in real-time.
