The best free PDF splitter program to cut into separate files
You can use Microsoft Print to PDF as a PDF splitter on Windows 10. It’s built right into Windows, so you don’t need to install anything. Basically, you "print" only the pages you want to save, and instead of paper, you get a brand new PDF file with just those pages.
Here are the simple steps:
1. Open your large PDF file in any program that can read it. For example, Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or Adobe Reader.
2. Press Ctrl + P to open the Print dialog. You can also go to File > Print.
3. Under "Printer," select Microsoft Print to PDF from the list.
4. In the "Pages" section, type the range you want to split out.
5. Click the Print button. It won't actually print anything.
6. A "Save Print Out put As" window will pop up. Choose where you want to save the new file, give it a name, and click Save.
That's it. You've just used this hidden PDF splitter to pull specific pages into their own file. Repeat the steps if you need to split out other page ranges from the original PDF. It's not fast for splitting hundreds of pages, but for a quick one-off job, it's totally painless.
