Simple way to remove or delete temporary files in Windows 10
My Windows 10 computer is running out of space and I've heard that temporary files are usually the cause. I'm not very tech-savvy and afraid of deleting something important that might break my comput...
Temporary files are hidden from seeing and it is very hard to find the temp files generated by different apps. For safety and fast way to delete temporary files in Windows 10 or Windows 11, you can follow this guide to get it done smoothly.
The most effective ways to clear these files include:
- Using the Run Command: Press the WINDOWS + R keys, type %temp%, and press Enter. This opens the folder containing temporary files, where you can select all items (CTRL + A) and delete them.
- Storage Sense: Navigate to Settings > System > Storage and toggle Storage Sense to "On" to allow Windows to automatically manage and remove unnecessary temporary files.
- Disk Cleanup: Search for "Disk Cleanup" in the Windows search bar, select the drive you wish to clean, and choose the file categories you want to remove.
- Settings Interface: Within the Storage menu in Settings, you can select "Free up space now" to scan for and remove specific temporary data.
