Sign in with Microsoft account to continue app experiences across devices
Running the latest version of Windows 11 24H2 with all the updates, every 2-3 days I get a notification that "there is problem with my account", I select the notification I get redirected to Settings...
The March 2026 security update (KB5079473) broke sign-in mechanisms for Microsoft accounts, causing exactly the "Something went wrong" error you're experiencing. Microsoft confirmed that apps requiring personal Microsoft account sign-ins (including Teams, OneDrive, and account settings) were affected. The emergency out-of-band update (KB5085516) was released specifically to address this.
