Should I just disconnect it from the Internet?
Is it ok to continue using Windows 10 for gaming?
I haven’t used Windows since Windows XP (Well a small bit of Windows 10 at uni). I finally built my first gaming PC recently and found out I absolutely hate using Windows 11. I tried out Bazzite too (Basically SteamOS) but wasn’t that keen and it has a lot of options to configure and my controller was laggy, I’m too exhausted to configure it properly.
I then tried Windows 10 and honestly it was so much better than Windows 11, aside from not needing to sign in the layout is just that little bit better. I only have Steam and Firefox/Brave installed, is it ok to just use it for gaming and keep it disconnected most the time?

Yes, it is safe to play games on Windows 10 while disconnected from the internet, but we recommend that you back up your data regularly and disable unnecessary network services.

Given Windows 10 is EOL, this exposes you to several security risks, and with the recent news of malware being found in Steam Games, I would recommend the switch to Windows 11. Its just a bit different of a UI, allegedly Windows is going to make it less power hungry and more performance efficient as of Friday 3/20/26. I'd say for security purposes, getting used to Windows 11 is worth it. Also don't fall for the Nordlayer or Malwarebytes gimmicks, Windows Defender out performs them, just run your updates regularly.
