PC going through power supplies every other month
For the past year I’ve been going through a power supply every 2 to 3 months, 3 out of the 5 times my compass turned off when the power supply stopped working. I am starting a new build in a couple of months but any advice would be appreciated to fix this issue

Cheap or low-quality power supplies are more prone to failure.
If possible, swap in a reliable, high-quality power supply (preferably from a reputable brand like Corsair, Seasonic, EVGA, etc.). Observe if the issues persist with the new PSU. If not, your old PSU was likely the culprit.
