On Win 10! The System Drive (C:) is Constantly Running Out of Space
On Windows 10 and my C drive keeps filling up for no apparent reason, even though I haven't installed any large programs or saved many files lately. The available space drops from several gigabytes to nearly zero within a few days, and I've already run Disk Cleanup and emptied the Recycle Bin without any lasting improvement. Windows shows the drive is almost full, but when I check the properties of all my folders, they don't seem to add up to the total used space.

Hi, this usually means something outside your normal user folders is growing, so folder properties will not always add up cleanly.
I would check these first:
1. Run Storage settings and look at Temporary files, System & reserved, and Apps.
2. Use a disk usage tool such as TreeSize Free or WinDirStat as administrator.
3. Check `C:\Windows\Temp`, `C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download`, and old Windows update files.
4. Check whether restore points or shadow copies are consuming space.
5. Look for large log files under `C:\ProgramData`.
If the space drops again after cleanup, note what folder grows. That will usually point to the real cause, such as update cache, restore points, a backup tool, or an application writing logs.
