Occasional Appearance of Partially Black Patches on Screen: Resolving a Potential Display Issue

Greetings,

I am encountering an intermittent issue that lasts for a brief period of time. A portion of my screen, varying in size from small to about a third of the screen, darkens at times. This typically occurs when scrolling through Facebook or conducting a Google search. The dark patches are square in shape, often with one side appearing uneven, similar to what I have attempted to illustrate in the attached file.

My system runs on Windows 11 with all the latest updates, and I have a GTX 1070 graphics card, also updated. I have tried updating drivers when the problem started approximately two months ago, but this did not resolve the issue. I mainly use the Edge browser, so I am unsure if the problem also occurs in Chrome. It seems to appear randomly, sometimes dissipating after a short while, only to return hours later or even the next day.

Unfortunately, I am unable to capture a screenshot as the darkened patch disappears before I can do so. The slightest movement of the mouse usually causes it to vanish. I work on a Dell U2723QE 4K monitor, with a scaling set to 125% due to difficulties in reading the menus without it.

While this issue does not significantly disrupt my work, it has started to bother me considerably, even triggering feelings related to OCD. I would greatly appreciate any insights or assistance that anyone can provide. Thank you!
