Nearly a billion PCs are still running Windows 10, and half are too old to upgrade
Many users worldwide are still running Windows 10, with nearly a billion PCs in use. A significant portion of these devices are too old to support the latest updates or upgrades, which poses challenges for security, performance, and compatibility. Despite the release of newer Windows versions, these outdated systems remain functional for many, but their continued use increases vulnerability to security threats and limits access to new features. Users often find it difficult to upgrade older hardware due to hardware limitations or lack of manufacturer support, leaving a large number of PCs running outdated software.
This situation underscores the importance of finding effective solutions for maintaining security and productivity on legacy systems while encouraging hardware upgrades where possible. The ongoing reliance on Windows 10 highlights the need for better tools and support to help users manage and secure their aging devices in an evolving digital landscape.

Windows 10 is a bit out of date and the official support is discontinued. In 2026, Windows 11 is much better option if your PC is eligible to run Windows 11.
