My Laptop screen went blue and says Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart
KathyZab Hi,

First try to force stop the system , hold down the power button for 10 seconds , take your time, then you can repeat it to start Windows.

Deleted Thank you, that worked. I had tried to restart it but that wasn't working. This did though 🙂
The laptop seems fine except that it's having trouble working out what a .docx file is. Is it likely to do this again? I just got a new laptop and have removed everything from the old one, which is the one with the blue screen error. Would a factory reset prevent this recurring?

A new laptop requires a lot of updates - which it needs to download and install - it should be plugged in - and rebooted to install new drivers.
It's just that your way of using - (too short working time) causes the problem - but I'm just guessing 🙂
