My laptop become slower after waking from sleep
The key clue is that performance drops only after resume and returns after restart. That points to a driver, device, or background process failing to resume cleanly. Immediately after waking, open Task Manager and compare CPU, Memory, and Disk with a fresh boot; record the abnormal process or device. Install Windows updates and the laptop maker’s BIOS, chipset, graphics, storage, and network drivers. In an elevated Command Prompt, run powercfg /systempowerreport, powercfg /requests, and powercfg /lastwake. If powercfg /a shows Modern Standby, create a SleepStudy report. Test one resume with docks and USB devices disconnected, then perform a clean boot to isolate third-party services. If slowdown occurs only on battery, compare Balanced and Best performance modes briefly. Do not disable Windows security or indexing permanently; capture their activity. Use Hibernate temporarily, and give the reports to the hardware vendor if a driver or device remains degraded after every resume.
