My Applications Randomly Freeze on Windows 10 computer
I'm running Windows 10 and my applications keep freezing randomly with no warning, where the program window becomes completely unresponsive, the mouse cursor turns into a spinning circle, and the only way to recover is to force-close the app through Task Manager or restart my entire computer. This happens across different programs like Chrome, File Explorer, and even lightweight apps like Notepad, and I've already checked for malware, updated all my drivers, and monitored CPU and memory usage, but nothing seems out of the ordinary, so I'm hoping someone can help me figure out whether this is a disk issue, a memory problem, or something related to a recent Windows update.

Open Registry Editor, navigate to the Keyboard Layout key, create a new binary value called "Scancode Map," and input a specific value to disable Num Lock. Restart your computer to apply the change. Be sure to back up the registry before editing.

Since you've ruled out basic software causes, it's wise to start with the hardware. Memory and storage issues can often cause these exact symptoms.
