Mouse polling rate

I have an old Logitech MX518 mouse that I still use to this day.

I'm struggling to find a way to change the mouse polling rate. On windows 10, it would handle 500Hz with ease.

Anyone know of a reliable method to increase mouse polling rate (that hopefully doesnt involve the bricking a USB port?)
