Mint saved my Freelance Journey

HEYY! Im a student and I switched to Mint 3months ago because i had this 10+ year old laptop which was working very slow on windows and i started doing a little too much coding on it since freelance was working out for me.
The battery life for this on windows 10 was 2-3hrs and we also have some power outrage problem so i could not keep it on charge the whole time...

Initially i was very afraid to switch to linux as i thought linux have no GUI what so ever but i had no other option so i watched few tutorials and realized that linux does have GUI and its not just ALOT of black terminals LOL and i got pretty pumped up

i got this 4GB USB on which i installed the distro and it took like 15mints to get this mint running like i had to do ZERO setup unlike windows which takes hours and you still have to do a bit of setup

The battery life now is 7+ Hours and it is soo smooth i cant believe my laptop could run like that

and thanks to this laptop which is still running and I was able to earn enough money to purchase a new one in this 3 month

also there are alot of good people i met on this sub reddit and they showed me their custom mint setup which i really loveddd so here is mine

You guys can rate it out of 10 and i would love to see your preferences

Your journey shows how powerful and accessible Linux can be, especially when you’re willing to learn and customize. I’d love to see your setup — feel free to share your desktop screenshot or describe your customizations, and I’ll gladly rate it out of 10! Also, if you want tips or suggestions,
