Minimize/Maximize/Close buttons disappear (Explorer, Outlook, etc).
Dear Community,
I have a problem and can't seem to find a solution.
On my Lenovo Thinkpad E13, after working for an hour or two, suddendly the Minimize/Maximize/Close buttons in the top right corner of any Windows Explorer window simply disappear. I can't do anything, except restart the Desktop Window Manager or restart my computer.
I have also tried:
- Change graphics configuration
- Change Project mode to Extended
- Made sur I'm not using Tablet Mode (not available on my Laptop anyways)
- I have no third-party apps
- I'm using stardard Windows theme
- Driver is up to date
- Windows is up to date
The buttons usually disappear when browsing in Chrome and then wanting to open an Explorer window by hitting WIN+E. After doing that a few times, the buttons disappear.
Lately the buttons habe also disappeared from Outlook after a while (I have Outlook 2019 installed).
I have two users on the computer:
- Admin
- Guest
So far, this issue only appears when I'm logged in as guest. As soon as the buttons disappear, if I log out and log in to Admin, then the buttons Minimize/Maximize/Close are there.
Does any one have any ideas what might cause this?
Thanks a lot in advance

Try using Microsoft Edge (instead of Google Chrome) just for test and see if the problem persists?
