Look for an easy way to bulk convert mp4 to animated gif on my Windows PC
Honestly, using Kdenlive to convert MP4 to GIF is a pretty solid idea, especially since it's free and actually has a built-in preset for it!
The super quick way to convert MP4 to GIF. According to users, you can convert MP4 to GIF directly from the render menu :
- Import your MP4 file into a new Kdenlive project.
- Go to Project > Render in the menu bar .
- Under the "Render Project" section, look for the Images Sequence category, and then select the GIF preset .
- Hit Render to File, and boom—you've used Kdenlive to convert MP4 to GIF!
The official Kdenlive manual shows that "GIF" lives under the "Images Sequence" category. This means it's basically rendering out a sequence of images and stitching them into a GIF. It totally works, but just keep in mind that the file size might get a bit chunky.
Some folks suggest that while you can convert MP4 to GIF this way, the "GIF High Quality" preset or even rendering to WebM might give you a smaller file with better quality . GIF is great for compatibility, but if file size matters, it's worth experimenting with the other presets!
