Keeping Windows 10 for a fee of $30.00 ?
That information is partially correct. I quote Microsoft's official announcement below:
You can enroll in ESU by one of the following three ways:
- At no additional cost if you are syncing your PC Settings
- Redeem 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points
- One-time purchase of $30 USD or local currency equivalent plus applicable tax
All enrollment options provide extended security updates through October 13, 2026. You will need to sign into your Microsoft account in order to enroll in ESU. You’ll be given these options to choose from when you enroll in the ESU program.

Until June, paying $30.00 was the only way to get ESU, but Microsoft changed their policy. Now, you can get ESU without additional fee by syncing your PC settings with OneDrive or redeem 1,000 Microsoft Reward points.

I saw the above announcement, but can't find instructions on how to redeem the Microsoft Rewards points on either the ESU pages or the Rewards pages. Also, we have two different Microsoft accounts - can my husband's acct rewards be used on a PC that is registered to me? Alternatively, what does "Syncing your PC Settings" Mean? I can't understand the linked page... Thank you from this Microsoft head-shaker.
