I have tried numerous times to attempt this partition recovery patch with no success. In .cmd and using administrator privilege I am locked out from shrinking and resizing this partition to increase it by 30% which is what I need for the file extensions for 2024-01 to install. Right now my partition size is 509MB, what I need is 750MB minimum to install this patch. cmd prompt states "OEM" resizing prohibited end user. I am sure I am not the only one getting this message as roughly 50% of windows 10 users used a OEM image disk to install windows 10. My version is the retired version 1909 that was succesfully updated to 22H2, but wont install 2024-01. In version 1909 there is an administrator lockout for administrators only for "Microsoft Privelege" to shrink and resize the recovery partition to the appropriate size needed for this install. Its a locked feature that at any time microsoft can unlock in a newer update and choses not to. Because I do much online gaming with XBOX Game Pass its created a vulnerability and my computer has been hacked twice with my file folders deleted from the SSD. Microsoft is doing this in an attempt to create obsolescence and get people tyo make teh switch to windows 11 when there is absolutely no need for win 11 and any computer predating 12th gen intel doesn't work well with win 11.
