Is there a totally free text to speech software?
Speech Central is available for users who want to collect articles and listen to them later. It can import text from web pages and other sources, organize a reading queue, and provide controls for speed, pronunciation, and background playback. This makes it more suitable for daily article reading than an app intended only for occasional text selection.
The free version may be sufficient for testing, while advanced features or higher usage limits may require a paid upgrade. If you listen for several hours each week, the paid version can be more predictable than applications that restrict premium voices or impose changing monthly limits.
Before committing, test one long article, lock the phone, switch between voices, and confirm whether the version you installed supports offline playback.
