Is there a totally free text to speech software?
If you want a dedicated Android app rather than an accessibility shortcut, Voice Aloud Reader is worth trying. It can receive text through copy and paste or Android’s Share menu, and it can read web pages, copied notes, and many supported documents. You can adjust the speech rate, choose from the voices installed on the phone, and continue playback while using another app.
It is generally supported by advertising rather than a required subscription, but the exact features can vary by region and app version. It also uses Android’s installed text-to-speech engine, so downloading the correct language voice under Android’s text-to-speech settings can improve the result.
For a simpler workflow, T2S: Text to Voice is another Android option for pasting text and listening to it. These are closer to a free everyday reader than services that lock their best voices behind a trial.
