SDelete is a command-line utility from Microsoft Sysinternals that securely deletes files by overwriting data with random patterns, making recovery much more difficult. It is primarily used for securely deleting individual files or free space on a drive to prevent data recovery. Using SDelete (Secure Delete) is a method for securely wipe a Lenovo laptop, but it cannot be used to wipe an entire Lenovo laptop or perform a full disk wipe on its own.
How to wipe a Lenovo laptop?
- Use official recovery options like Windows Reset or factory reset.
- Create Recovery Media and perform a full system restore.
- Use disk wiping tools like DBAN (Darik's Boot and Nuke) or Parted Magic for a complete drive wipe before reinstalling Windows.
